Robert K. Savage
WayPoints Master Financial Navigator | Vice President
Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach
Bob was born May 6, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland and is the younger of two brothers and has lived in the Baltimore-Washington area for most of his life. His parents taught him at an early age to study and work hard to save for things that he cherished. As a child, he shovelled snow for the elderly on snow days off and held regular grass cutting jobs to save enough money to buy his first adult bicycle which he used regularly into his college years. Throughout high school and college, he also held various jobs from dishwasher, construction laborer to medical lab technician.
After high school, Bob attended University of Maryland and graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Business Administration, majoring in Production Management. Again, his parents guided him financially to make sure he shared in the cost of tuition and books while working part time. After completing his undergraduate degree in 4 years at age 22, Bob started his vocational career as a buyer at a large defense contractor. While working full time, he also pursued a graduate degree at night and completed his MBA from Loyola University in Maryland in 1983. He continued his defense industry career for 35 years and held various positions of increasing responsibility until reaching Director of Supply Chain Management.
Throughout college and his working career, Bob benefitted from his parents’ fiscal discipline. He was always very focused financially and thrived on budgeting and personal investing. He became a resource to extended family members seeking financial guidance. Today, Bob and his wife Barb are financially secure and both of their college age daughters will graduate from college debt free. In his spare time, Bob enjoys golfing, skiing, swimming and family.
Inspired by the satisfaction from helping his daughters and other extended family members, Bob completed both the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University curriculum and the Masters Series Financial Coaching Course. In 2014, he joined WayPoints Financial Services as a Financial Navigator. His desire is to share his training and help people of all ages create and execute a plan to eliminate debt and build wealth for their families. He is particularly interested in guiding young people and sharing the proven steps to financial independence.
